  2. The café is sunny and it’s beautiful to be here. When I arrive, Yan is already drinking tea. Jean-Daniel is close to the bar and, because of the layout of the space, he’s separated from us. We are lower down, in the main space. So we’re three down here, Delphine, Yan and me. Quite quickly, I change place: between the moment I order and the moment the waiter brings me my tea, I move to the table which is opposite my initial position. I potentially have a reason for that, the presence of a couple next to me whose noisy conversation bothers me. The space is so big I can move without problem. So I tell myself that as soon as there is a potential reason for me to change place, I’ll do it. While drinking my tea, I realize I’m not really seeing the view. So I go sit a few tables away, facing the bow-windows with a view on the lake. I watch Delphine and Yan change place. I am divided between observing the other players in order to coordinate my actions with theirs, and wanting to follow my own impulses without paying attention to anything else. I move four times in total, then decide to leave after Yan has gone out.

  5. We are off to the bar Der Witz. I sit alone at a table. I do not like to go alone to bars, but now, I know I’m not, even if nobody sees it: I’m with my group. I’m the king of the world, and I order a huge cocktail. I start to change places. After a while, I feel that apart from me nobody else changes places. I check the WhatsApp group, there are lots of messages, they say they change. I change places again and tell them that I am towards the window. They tell me they don’t see me. Big doubt.
    “Where are you?”
“But where are YOU? Are you in Der Witz?”
    “Yes”
“Did you not see in the WhatsApp group that in Der Witz all the tables were reserved and that we decided to go to De Sigaar?”.
Big panic. I’m actually all alone. I feel very very tiny and really very alone with my huge cocktail and my bravery of changing places on my own. I swallow it quickly to join the others. Relieved and drunk.
